The seventh edition of Labelmaster’s now iconic Dangerous Goods Instructors Symposium is coming up on Sept. 5-7 in our hometown of Chicago. I’m looking forward to welcoming more than 150 old and new colleagues to our meeting, which will take place at the DoubleTree Magnificent Mile.
If you haven’t been to one of these unique events, you need to talk to someone who has! From hands-on workshop learning experiences to in-depth technical analysis of the regulations, delegates are expected to contribute their views, experience and expertise during three days of an eclectic mix of topics that cover instructor skills, business best practices, regulatory interpretation and planning.
The program still being developed, but we can say we’ll dig into the new lithium battery packing instructions for 2013, the number one safety issue in the air mode. These packing instructions once again put trainers at the forefront of making the regulations work. The in-depth review of the ICAO TI for 2013 might be something of an anti-climax after that! We’ll each be asked to look in the mirror to see what kind of instructor we are and come up with plans to make us even better in the future. How’s your training business doing? Help with designing and maintaining your web presence will be available. What really happens during a dangerous goods incident? What to expect when the unexpected happens and planning for it will also be covered.
That’s just a taste of what’s in store for Chicago. Of course, there’ll still be time for Labelmaster’s singular “fayre,” the only promotional activity of the entire event and a chance to meet and put a face to the folks on the end of the phones at Labelmaster when you call. Not to mention the give-away goodies…
This year we’ve secured an excellent rate at the DoubleTree and we’d recommend signing up early to make sure you get it. Notwithstanding air fares going up, I can confirm that we’ve been able to hold the line of Symposium fee: it’s still $0 and, in short, the best value around.
