DG Digest: USPS Proposes Stricter Guidelines for Cremated Remains and OSHA Delays Final Decision on Workplace Heat Illness Prevention

USPS

The Postal Service is proposing to amend Publication 52, Hazardous, Restricted, and Perishable Mail (Pub 52) by requiring mailers to solely use the Cremated Remains shipping supplies provided by the Postal Service when mailing human or animal cremated remains domestically or internationally. The linked NPRM outlines the new guidance. Comments are due on or before December 26, 2024. Find more information here.

OSHA

The agency has extended the comment period for its proposed rule modifying its regulations governing heat injury and illness prevention in the workplace. The new period now ends on January 14th, 2025. See the extension here.
