After a lengthy hiatus due to the just resolved federal government shutdown, the Digest is finally back with some fresh regulatory news, albeit rather limited. Odds are things will get quite busy in the next week or two as agencies ramp operations back up. Meanwhile, here’s what’s new so far:
EPA
The agency is extending the postponement of the effectiveness of certain regulatory provisions of the final rule entitled ‘‘Trichloroethylene (TCE); Regulation Under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA)’’ for an additional 90 days. Specifically, this postponement applies to the conditions imposed on the uses with TSCA section 6(g) exemptions. EPA further postpones until February 17, 2026, the conditions imposed. See details here:
The EPA is also finalizing an extension to the compliance dates applicable to certain entities subject to the regulation of methylene chloride promulgated under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA). Specifically, EPA is finalizing an 18- month extension of the Workplace Chemical Protection Program (WCPP) and associated recordkeeping compliance dates for industrial or commercial laboratories that are not owned or operated by Federal agencies or contractors acting on behalf of the Federal government. The extension is effective on December 15th, 2025. Find out more at this link:
