June is about to wrap (already!) and this coming weekend is the 4th of July holiday—a unique one as it marks the 250th year of US independence. As such, it’s likely to be even more enthusiastically celebrated than usual—including the use of fireworks. If fireworks are legal where you live, and you plan on including them in your holiday weekend, please ensure you do so safely. No one wants a tragedy to overtake a family get-together, or a fire to start because of careless use. Be safe, be smart, and have fun! Here’s last week’s regulatory news of note:
CPSC
The Commission has published a proposed rule which if adopted would impose additional safety requirements and testing parameters for micromobility devices (like scooters and ebikes) powered by lithium batteries. While not specifically transport related, it’s definitely “transport adjacent.” See the NPRM here:
OSHA
The agency published an ICR related to its Butadiene Standard. Butadiene is a hazardous chemical often used in industry. See the ICR here:
