DG Digest: OMB Proposes Rule That Drastically Changes Fed Grant Funding Requirements

Welcome to June! It’s the beginning of “meteorological” summer, so be sure your facility’s heat safety plan is in place and ready to go. Let’s take a look at the regulatory news from the final week of May:

OMB

While not specifically DG related, the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) published a proposed rule that if implemented would impose drastic changes on all federal agencies related to the selection for and administration of federal grant funding and require grant seekers to provide very specific data and assurances related to compliance with the administration’s political priorities. The rule would also move decision making authority from career agency personnel to political appointees selected by the administration. See these comprehensive changes here:

FMCSA

The agency published an ICR that relates to required commercial motor vehicle (CMV) marking requirements. See the ICR here:

The agency published a new tranche of chemical analyses under the TSCA, evaluating as “not expected to pose an unreasonable risk.” See the new list here:
