OUR PERSPECTIVE
- Better packaging supports a better DG supply chain. Despite many packaging innovations in recent years, the challenges associated with outdated DG packaging has been a problem for decades. The DG industry cannot be fine with the status quo and must continue creating and adopting new packaging solutions that support a safer, more compliant supply chain.
- Know the regulations. Regulations for shipping different items continue to expand and become more complex. Stay up-to-date on the latest packaging and labeling requirements for each of the different items you ship and understand how they impact your operations – from the packaging materials to warning labels to employee training.
- Think outside the box. Don’t do things just because that’s how you’ve always done them. Continue to refine your packaging strategies and utilize innovative new packaging solutions to further improve efficiency throughout the supply chain. Whether it’s using specialty packaging for shipping high-risk items such as lithium batteries instead of standard cardboard boxes or simply evaluating the various steps in your packaging process, changes – big or small – can make a huge difference.
