DG Digest: OSHA invites stakeholder and public comments on their Process Safety Management (PSM) standard later this month

The Labor Day holiday is over and with it the comes the traditional end of summer. Hopefully, everyone had a safe and happy season. The coming week sees children return to school across much of the country, so be on the lookout for lots of extra traffic and excited kids that may not always be paying attention to traffic, especially near schools.  Let’s all be extra safe!  Here’s the latest and admittedly somewhat sparse regulatory news:

OSHA

The agency invites interested parties to participate in an informal stakeholder meeting concerning the rulemaking project for OSHA’s Process Safety Management (PSM) standard, at which OSHA will provide a brief overview of its work on the PSM rulemaking project to date. Additionally, OSHA invites participants to provide public comments related to potential changes to the standard that OSHA is considering. The stakeholder meeting will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. ET, on Wednesday, September 28, 2022. See more details at this link.

FMCSA

The agency amended the regulations for the annual registration fees States collect from motor carriers, motor private carriers of property, brokers, freight forwarders, and leasing companies for the Unified Carrier Registration (UCR) Plan and Agreement for the 2023 registration year and subsequent registration years. See fee details via the link here.
