
Winter weather continues to blow across the country, as February rolls in. Let’s all keep focused on winter workplace safety as we all hope for an early spring! Here’s last week’s regulatory news:
Regulatory Rollback Plans
Last week President Trump signed an Executive Order (EO14192) that directs federal agencies tasked with rulemaking to offset any new regulations they propose or implement with a concurrent plan to eliminate no less than ten regulations in exchange. The order also directs that the total costs of any new or withdrawn regulations should cumulatively be, in the order’s words, “substantially less” than net zero. How this action may or will impact routine rulemaking (such as PHMSA’s periodic international harmonization regulations) is unclear. Watch this space for further developments. Find the EO here:
