DG Digest: TSA levies further cargo restrictions on certain Mideast countries

The end of January finds regulatory activity at low ebb, perhaps mimicking the quiet of winter.  It’s a good time to catch up on those revisions and amendments you’ve not had time to study, perhaps.  Always look for that positive way forward!  Here’s what did happen last week:

Canada TDGR

Transport Canada released a new “FAQ” page to help explain the recent marine provisions revision in the TDGR.  The page is intended to be a bit more user friendly than the rule itself.  Here you link

TSA

Transportation Security Administration further restricted cargo shipments from several Mideast countries, requiring additional screening of packages.  The move comes on terrorism concerns.  See the news here

FRA

The nation’s rail safety agency published a revised guide to completing required accident and incident reporting submittals.  The action is intended to assist users with giving the FRA all the information needed to satisfy federal requirements in such circumstances.  See the revised documents here
