Revisions to Civil Penalties
Over the course of the year, various federal agencies that have enforcement authority publish revisions to the penalty amounts they may assess for various regulatory citations. Typically, the revisions increase amounts to account for inflation. Several such revisions were published this week; here are links to the various affected agencies:

The agency is proposing two new ICR’s that will increase agency participation in the screening, use, and information gathering activity surrounding the use of chemical son the TSCA list. Users might be asked to participate in surveys and interviews as part of this new process. See the details here
FMCSA
The agency published proposed revisions to its crash preventability program for CMV’s. The program seeks to establish common factors in various types of CMV accidents in an effort to address regulatory factors that may help prevent them. See the modifications here

A newly revised standard governing the reconditioning and use of drums in dangerous goods transport has been published by our neighbors to the north. The new standard is available for review here
